Midwest City police say weekend fire that killed 2 is now a homicide investigation

Share/Save/Bookmark

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma — Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes says the deaths of two people found in a burned home is now a homicide investigation.

The bodies of a man and a woman were found Saturday morning after firefighters extinguished the blaze at a small home near Midwest City High School.

Clabes said Wednesday that the two have not been positively identified and that the state medical examiner's office is working to determine the cause and manner of the deaths — but he says evidence at the scene led authorities to investigate the deaths as homicides.

A suspected cause of the fire has not been released.
