Police on Long Island say driver may have crashed into house on purpose, then driven away


CENTRAL ISLIP, New York — Police say a vehicle caused extensive damage to a home on Long Island when it crashed into the detached garage, then crashed into the main house and kept going.

There were no reported injuries from the incident late Wednesday in Central Islip.

Suffolk County police tell Newsday ( ) that the person who crashed into the house continued driving.

Police believe the incident may have been intentional.

It was not clear what type of vehicle was involved in the crash.
