EAST LANSING, Mich. — Most of the buildings that once housed the Michigan State Police headquarters in East Lansing are being demolished.
The Lansing State Journal reports (http://on.lsj.com/Jiz4X5 ) crews were busy this week at the site, which is owned by Michigan State University.
They aim to complete demolition by mid-August. Demolition will cost an estimated $3.1 million, with part coming from the state.
State police moved into a new headquarters in Lansing in 2010, and university officials say they don't need most of the structures. A few will be left standing.
