CASPER, Wyoming — The Casper City Council on Tuesday will take the second of three required votes needed to amend a public smoking ban.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/12in4cx ) the council voted 5-4 in favor of the changes during a first reading of the proposed ordinance in April.
The current smoking ban prohibits lighting up in public places, which include restaurants, bars and private clubs.
If the amendments are approved, smoking will again be allowed in bars, taverns and lounges. Smoking would be permitted in private clubs when they are closed to the public, private areas of businesses and designated areas in health care facilities.
It would still be banned in restaurants and family establishments.
