US Coast Guard crew rescues 4 from recreational boat in Saginaw Bay that was taking on water

ESSEXVILLE, Michigan — The U.S. Coast Guard says it has rescued four people in Saginaw Bay from a boat that was taking on water.

A crew responded Tuesday night from Essexville after a report that a 24-foot recreational boat was taking on water near Channel Island, about 95 miles northwest of Detroit.

No injuries were reported.

The crew got water out of the boat and towed it to a Michigan Department of Natural Resources boat ramp near the entrance to Saginaw Bay.
