Emergency crews search for missing boater in Savannah-area waters

SAVANNAH, Georgia — Emergency crews are searching for a boater who officials say fell into the Savannah River near the Fort Pulaski Bridge.

The Coast Guard says the incident was reported at 9:15 a.m. Saturday. The boater was ejected from a 17-foot jon boat Saturday morning after an allusion between his boat and the bridge.

A boat crew from Station Tybee Island and a crew aboard a helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah were launched to search.
