Sheriff's officials say suspect arrested in road-rage shooting that left motorist injured

HOUSTON — Authorities say a suspect has been arrested in a road-rage shooting last month in Houston that left a motorist with a gunshot wound to her head.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said Monday that 22-year-old Dietrich Evans has been charged with aggravated assault. Officials say the documented gang member was arrested Monday at his home.

Officials say the victim identified him as the man who shot her.

Officials say Evans is being held at the Harris County Jail on $250,000 bond. Attorney information for him was not immediately available.

Authorities say 22-year-old Kay Hafford was shot March 20 after honking at an SUV she says cut her off along Interstate 45. She later heard a loud noise and realized she'd been shot.

Hafford is expected to recover.
