Police: Wilmington man shot while apparently unloading groceries from car

WILMINGTON, Delaware — Wilmington police say a man was shot in the arm and foot apparently while unloading groceries from his car.

Police say it happened shortly after 12 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Van Buren Street.

Police spokesman Cpl. Mark Ivey says the man was apparently unloading groceries from his car when he saw two men on bicycles. Ivey says they displayed handguns and began firing.

Police say the victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
