Pelicans add guard Elliot Williams on 10-day contract in advance of game vs. Detroit

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Pelicans have signed guard Elliot Williams to a 10-day contract and will be available for Wednesday night's home game against the Detroit Pistons.

The 6-foot-5 Williams has been playing for Santa Cruz of the NBA Development League, averaged 21.8 points, 7.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds.

Williams also has played under 10-day NBA contracts with Utah and Charlotte.

A former Memphis standout who was drafted 22nd overall by Portland in 2010, Williams has appeared in 96 career NBA games with Portland, Philadelphia and Utah, averaging 5.3 points in 14 minutes per game.
