NIAGARA FALLS, New York — Matt Scott poured in a career-high 23 points to lead Niagara to a 73-61 win over defending Mid-America Athletic Conference champion Manhattan Friday night.

The freshman was 7 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 4 from behind the arc, and 7 of 10 from the line. It was just the second time Scott had reached double figure scoring for the Purple Eagles. His previous high was 13 points against Canisius.

Niagara (3-8, 2-1 MAAC) got 15 points from Karonn Davis and 12 more from Dominique Reid and shot a red-hot 59.5 percent from the field (25 of 42).

The Jaspers (4-8, 1-2 MAAC) got 11 points from Ashton Pankey, the lone scorer to reach double figures. The team shot 36.1 percent (22 of 61) and 53.8 percent from distance (7 of 13), but was just 16 of 29 from the free throw line.
