SMITHFIELD, Rhode Island — Justin Sears and Javier Duren scored 15 points apiece and Yale topped Bryant 67-60 on Wednesday.

Yale (7-2) led by five at the break and Bryant cut it to three on Joe O'Shea's jumper on the first possession of the second half. But Yale scored the next nine points — five by Matt Townsend — and nursed a short lead the rest of the way.

Sears was 6 of 11 from the floor, had 3 blocked shots and seven rebounds. Duran had a pair of 3-pointers, seven assists and five boards. Townsend and Jack Montague added 11 points apiece and Yale out-rebounded Bryant 38-28.

Bryant (1-4) was paced by Dyami Starks with 23 points. Zach Chionuma added 11 points but was just 4 of 13 from the floor. Bryant went to the line just six times, making four, while Yale went 16 of 26.
