Grambling St., Tulane, Southeastern La., La.-Monroe win LSWA honors

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Strong performances from several teams in the state may choices difficult for the panel of voters in making the selections for the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week selections.

Grambling quarterback Johnathan Williams was the offensive player of the week after leading the Tigers to a 38-23 win over Mississippi Valley State, while Parry Nickerson of Tulane was the defensive player of the week after the Green Wave's 31-24 win at Houston. Louisiana-Monroe's Justin Manton and Southeastern's Devante Scott tied for Special Teams Player of the Week.
