DOVER, Delaware — Delaware State Police say a Milton man is dead after a fatal crash involving a stolen motorcycle south of Dover.

The crash occurred Sunday evening when police say the southbound Suzuki G 60 motorcycle hit a Jeep Rubicon in the northbound lane of South State Street. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle, which fell on its side and burst into flames.

Police say the rider, 26-year-old Eric Stubbs was pronounced dead on the scene. Stubbs was wearing a helmet, but police say he was not motorcycle endorsed. Police say the motorcycle was reported stolen from New Castle County Police Department and speed may have been a factor in the crash.

Police say the driver of the Jeep and his passenger were not injured.
