KINGMAN, Arizona — A Mohave County Jail inmate is facing additional charges for allegedly plotting to escape with the help of his girlfriend.

County sheriff's detectives say Michael William Ruane and Megan Lee Husted both are being held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit escape.

Ruane was booked into the jail by Lake Havasu City police on Aug. 5 for armed robbery, being a prohibited possessor of a firearm and two counts of aggravated assault. His bond was set at $1 million.

Jail personnel learned Tuesday of Ruane's alleged escape plot with the 27-year-old Husted. They both are Lake Havasu City residents.

Husted was arrested Thursday at a Lake Havasu City home and transported to the Mohave County Jail.

It was unclear Friday if either Ruane or Husted have lawyers yet.
