SPOKANE, Washington — A stalking suspect who was wounded by a Spokane officer after a stolen car chase denies the accusations against him.

Joseph Hensz appeared in court Monday in Spokane, facing charges of stalking and car theft.

KREM reports (http://bit.ly/1HeEQ6K ) the 20-year-old says the stalking accusation that started the Nov. 8 incident is not true. He also says the car was borrowed. And, Hensz said he "didn't drive recklessly that much" and couldn't understand an officer who yelled at him.

Police say Hensz sped away at more than 100 mph. The chase ended in a crash and the shooting.
