Man charged in fatal shooting in Rochester; surrenders after barricading himself inside home

ROCHESTER, New York — Authorities say a 27-year-old man faces arraignment in Rochester on a second-degree murder charge after he gunned down another man over the weekend.

Police tell local media that they arrested Stephen Mclaughlin Jr. when he surrendered to police around 8 a.m. Sunday after barricading himself inside a home for several hours.

Officials say Mclaughlin had shot 28-year-old Dorian Allison of Rochester a few hours earlier on Lloyd Street. Allison later died at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Mclaughlin is scheduled to be arraigned in a Rochester court Monday. It couldn't be determined if he has a lawyer.
