DAYTON, Ohio — Grant Benzinger hit 5 of 8 from 3-point range and finished with 17 points to help Wright State beat Cleveland State 70-53 Thursday night.

Michael Karena added 16 points, Mark Alstork scored 13 and JT Yoho 11 for Wright State, which has won three games in a row and six of its last seven.

Benzinger hit a pair of 3-pointers during a 16-8 spurt that pushed Raiders' lead to 32-20 with 4:38 left in the first half.

A layup by Jibri Blount pulled Cleveland State (5-13, 0-5 Horizon League) within eight just more than six minutes into the second, but back-to-back 3s by Yoho and Benzinger pushed the lead to 54-40 and Wright State (9-8, 3-1) led by double figures the rest of the way.

Andre Yates led the Vikings with 14 points.

Cleveland State, which has lost five in a row, hit just 3 of 14 (21.4 percent) from 3-point range.
