GULFPORT, Mississippi — A federal judge has scheduled a Nov. 25 sentencing for a man who authorities say was pulled over on Interstate 10 in south Mississippi in a car carrying 9 kilograms of cocaine.
An affidavit filed in U.S. District Court in Gulfport says Felipe Fabela was stopped for an unsafe lane change on April 11 in Pass Christian.
The affidavit says Fabela was nervous as he told the officer he was traveling from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Montgomery, Alabama
The affidavit says Fabela consented to a search of the car and the cocaine was found in a hidden compartment inside the front frame rails of the 2007 Chevy Cobalt.
Fabela pleaded guilty Aug. 27.
