HOISINGTON, Kansas — Central Kansas authorities say a house fire that left a man dead is suspicious.

Hoisington Police Chief Kenton Doze says 62-year-old LeRoy Schartz was found dead in a room when authorities arrived at the home Wednesday night. An autopsy has been scheduled for Schartz.

Doze says items inside the residence led police to rule the fire as suspicious. He says couldn't give more details about the items, because of an ongoing investigation.

No other injuries were reported in the blaze.
