BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Baton Rouge police have arrested another man in the shooting death of a man outside of grocery store.
The department says investigators booked 18-year-old Harold Retana on Saturday in connection with Friday's death of Marvin Thomas.
Another teenager, 18-year-old Corey Scott, was booked Sunday with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon in connection with Thomas' slaying.
Investigators believe Retana initiated the fight with Thomas while trying to rob him of a cell phone. Shortly after that, shots were fired that killed Thomas. Authorities said Thomas, of St. Gabriel, was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
Retana was booked with attempted simple robbery, inciting a felony and simple battery.
Bond information for both men was not immediately available. It was unclear if either is represented by an attorney.
