DRUMMONDS, Tennessee — Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents have arrested a man who has been charged with shooting his wife to death in Tipton County.

The TBI said Tuesday that 53-year-old Dwight M. Alston has been charged with homicide in the death of 51-year-old Johnnie Patricia Alston in a home in Drummonds in West Tennessee.

The TBI says the victim's son called 911 early Saturday morning to report that his parents were arguing and he heard a gunshot.

Dwight Alston is being held without bond at the Tipton County jail. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.
