South Dakota prison inmate missing since April captured; man walked away from facility

RAPID CITY, South Dakota — A missing state prison inmate is back in custody in South Dakota.

State corrections officials say 26-year-old Paul Trejo walked away from the Rapid City Minimum Unit on April 20. He was apprehended in Bennett County on Saturday.

Trejo is currently housed in the jail in Winner but will be transported to Pennington County to face escape charges.

Trejo was serving a 10-year sentence with two years suspended for a third-degree burglary out of Butte County.
