Arizona Commerce Authority pushes back selection of new CEO

PHOENIX — The Arizona Commerce Authority is pushing back a selection of a new CEO.

A spokeswoman had said last week the quasi-government authority responsible for the state's economic development effort would select a new leader on Friday.

But the board agenda doesn't include that as an action item, and departing CEO Don Cardon tells the Arizona Capitol Times says he doesn't know when the authority will be ready to make an announcement.

Cardon says the authority's selection committee is reviewing a list of nine or 10 candidates. He says they are not yet finalists.
