SAVANNAH, Georgia — Police investigators are seeking witnesses who might have seen a Wilmington Island man walking on Johnny Mercer Boulevard before he was struck and killed by a car.
Savannah-Chatham police say 35-year-old Jonathan Edwards died just east of the Spencer Grayson Bridge over Turner's Creek shortly before midnight on Nov. 27. Police said he is believed to have been walking west toward the bridge when he was struck. He was wearing black leather jacket and blue jeans and light tan work boots at the time.
Police say they identified a 25-year-old woman as the driver of the vehicle they say did not stop.
Police are asking that anyone who saw Edwards walking call them at (912) 525-2421.
