VENTURA, California — Sheriff's officials say a standoff ended with the arrest of a woman on suspicion of attacking and killing a man inside a home in Paso Robles.
Sgt. David Kenitz said Sunday that 61-year-old Nicole Honait Luxor was taken into custody after holding authorities at bay for several hours.
Deputies went to the house following reports of an assault and found a dead man inside.
Luxor retreated to an upstairs bedroom and fired one shot at deputies, forcing them to get out of the house.
Authorities said Luxor also fired multiple gunshots at deputies when they fired tear gas into the house.
She surrendered just before midnight.
No one was injured during the standoff.
The victim's name and the nature of his relationship with Luxor were not released.
