Firefighters: 1 person dead in mobile home fire in Orange Park


ORANGE PARK, Florida — One person is dead following a mobile home fire in northeast Florida.

The Florida Times-Union ( ) reports someone called 911 around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday to report flames coming out of the home in Orange Park.

Clay County Fire Rescue officials say the caller hung up and went to try to alert the person who lived in the home.

About 17 firefighters put out the fire, which had consumed much of the structure.

Once the fire was out, they found one person dead inside.

No firefighters were injured.

The state fire marshal's office is investigating.
