Share/Save/Bookmark

NEW ORLEANS — A Luling man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on federal child pornography charges.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in New Orleans says 28-year-old Chad Michael Hotard was sentenced Wednesday. He had been convicted on two counts of production and one count of distribution of child pornography.

Prosecutors said Hotard coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct to produce child pornography in 2012 and 2013. He also distributed digital images of child pornography in 2013.

Hotard has been in federal custody since his arrest on April 15, 2013.

U.S. District Judge Ginger Berrigan handed down the 15-year sentence.
