Illinois fugitive charged with assaulting boy arrested in Honolulu; suspect sought since June

HONOLULU — A 64-year-old man charged in Illinois with predatory criminal sexual assault was arrested at a YMCA in Honolulu.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser (http://bit.ly/1uElxiq) reports James A. McKee was arrested Monday morning by the Hawaii U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

McKee was charged in November 2013 with sexually assaulting a boy under the age of 13 in his hometown of Spring Valley, Illinois.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Matt Brophy says McKee was investigated in other sexual assault cases over three years.

Brophy says McKee was free on bail, and when he didn't show up for a court appearance, a warrant was issued in June.

He says McKee was at the top of the list for the marshals task force because of the charges.

McKee is scheduled for an extradition hearing.
