LARAMIE, Wyoming — The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees has approved a three-year contract with incoming President Robert Sternberg that will pay a base salary of $425,000 a year.

Trustees unanimously approve the contract on Tuesday.

Sternberg will take over as UW president on July 1, succeeding retiring President Tom Buchanan.

The contract also calls for UW to contribute to a deferred compensation plan, and to provide a housing allowance and a vehicle.

Sternberg comes to UW from Oklahoma State University, where he has served as provost and senior vice president since 2010.
