SAN FRANCISCO — A federal grand jury has indicted a couple for the murder of a man who allegedly was the suspects' daughter's pimp.
The San Francisco Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1eAN2PT ) reports that Barry Gilton, his girlfriend Lupe Mercado, his cousin Antonio Gilton and friend Alfonso Williams were indicted last week in connection with the June fatal drive-by shooting of 22-year-old Calvin Sneed of Compton in San Francisco's Bayview District.
All four were charged with murder in aid of racketeering. Mercado pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.
San Francisco prosecutors have said Gilton and Mercado blamed Sneed for dragging their 17-year-old daughter into prostitution. Antonio Gilton and Williams allegedly drove next to Sneed's car and shot him in the head.
Mercado was not in the car, but allegedly called Barry Gilton before the shooting.
It's not known if the case will be heard exclusively in federal court.
