It was Wright-Phillips' eighth multigoal game of his career.
Andy Dorman got one back for the Revolution (6-9-6) in the 37th minute. New England has dropped five in a row.
Brooklyn native Anthony Wallace also scored for the Red Bulls (7-6-5) in the 56th minute.
Red Bulls assistant Denis Hamlett stepped in for coach Jesse Marsch, who served a one-game suspension due to a red card in last Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Columbus Crew.
