Rays reliever Brandon Gomes placed on 15-day DL, RHP Josh Lueke recalled from Triple-A Durham

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — The Tampa Bay Rays have placed right-handed reliever Brandon Gomes on the 15-day disabled list with a muscle strain in his right side.

The move before Friday night's game against the San Diego Padres is retroactive to May 8. Right-hander Josh Lueke was recalled from Triple-A Durham to fill the roster spot.

Gomes is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in 14 appearances this season. Lueke was 2-0 with a 0.95 ERA and seven saves in 14 games with Durham.
