Pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries after struck by car in Hampton, driver charged

HAMPTON, New Hampshire — Police say a Hampton man has suffered life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car.

Police said 28-year-old Paul Fields was hospitalized after he was struck at about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday on Ashworth Avenue in Hampton.

The driver, 18-year-old Jacob Bailey of Dover, has been arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer or was scheduled for a court date.

Police are still investigating the crash.
