3-5 favorite Smokey Image wins I'm Smokin Stakes by 4 1/2 lengths at Del Mar

DEL MAR, California — Smokey Image won the $150,000 I'm Smokin Stakes for California-bred 2-year-olds by 4 ½ lengths as the 3-5 favorite Friday at Del Mar.

Ridden by Juan Hernandez, Smokey Image ran six furlongs in 1:09.60 and paid $3.20, $2.20 and $2.10.

Found Money returned $3.20 and $2.40 as the 3-1 second choice, while Viviendo el Sueno was another 5 3/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.80 to show.

Trained by Greg James, Smokey Image improved to 4-0 in his career. He earned $85,500 to increase his earnings to $187,600.

Flavien Prat rode two winners a day after he won four races and moved into second in the jockeys' standings with 27 wins, nine behind leader . also rode two winners.
