RAND, West Virginia — Kanawha County authorities have released the identity of a man who was found fatally shot in Rand.

Cpl. Brian Humphreys of the sheriff's office says deputies found a vehicle flipped Friday morning. The dead man was outside the vehicle and a wounded woman was found inside.

Humphreys identified the male as 27-year-old Christopher Carey of Rand, while 28-year-old Latisha Crawford of Rand was taken to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds to the right leg, right arm and upper torso. Her condition wasn't immediately known.

Humphreys says evidence shows multiple guns were used during the shooting.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, which prompted four area schools to be closed as a precaution while deputies searched for the suspect.
