EATON, Ohio — State Highway Patrol officials say a 64-year-old woman died after she ignored a railroad crossing gate and her vehicle was struck by an oncoming train in western Ohio.

Police say Linda Radesic, of North Olmsted, was driving south on Reed Road in Eaton Township when she arrived at the railroad crossing around 6 p.m. Sunday.

Officials say the gates were down but Radesic drove around them. Her car collided with the train and was dragged 180 feet.

The train came to an emergency stop with the vehicle still on the tracks. Radesic was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Radesic had no passengers and she wasn't wearing her seatbelt.

The accident remains under investigation. Highway Patrol officials say it isn't clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
