DETROIT — Rian Pearson scored 16 points and Julius Brown hit a game-winning jumper with 6 seconds to play on Saturday as Toledo came from behind to defeat Detroit 80-78 to remain unbeaten.
Trailing 46-36 at halftime and the victim of a 12-2 Detroit run to open the second period, Toledo (5-0) steadily clawed back and Brown made it a two-point game on a jumper with 1:56 to play, then tied it at 77 with a tip-shot off an offensive rebound. Juwan Howard Jr. made a free throw to give Detroit (3-3) a 78-77 lead, but Brown hit a jumper with 6 seconds left to put Toledo ahead, then iced the game with a free throw as time ran out.
Brown and J.D. Weatherspoon each scored 12 points for the Rockets.
Howard led the Titans with 23 points, Anton Wilson scored 16, including four 3-pointers, and Carlton Brundidge added 10 points.
