Man injured, vehicles and homes damaged in Del. shooting

NEWARK, Delaware — New Castle County Police say a man has been shot in the Newark community of Sparrow Run.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. Police found a man with a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was taken to a local hospital.

Authorities investigating the shooting learned that cars and home in the area had been damaged by projectiles. No one else was hurt.
