State police: Baton Rouge teen killed in accident on Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish

SORRENTO, Louisiana — State police say a 16-year-old Baton Rouge boy was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 10 west of La. Highway 22 in Ascension Parish.

Trooper 1st Class Jared Sandifer says the car involved in the crash had four occupants, including a 16-year-old driving without a license, when it ran off I-10 about noon Saturday and struck several trees in the median.

Sandifer says Gary Clark Jr., a rear seat passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries from the crash. He says the driver and other two passengers were wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
