Police cruiser in central Kentucky hits, kills pedestrian

STANFORD, Kentucky — A pedestrian has died after being hit by a police cruiser in central Kentucky.

WLEX-TV (http://bit.ly/1CfUE55) reports the Lincoln County coroner says 69-year-old Howard Robbins was hit by a Stanford city police car Thursday night while walking alongside a highway in Lincoln County.

The station reports he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled in Frankfort.

The coroner says the officer was on his way to work. No further details were immediately available.
