OCEANSIDE, California — Authorities say crews have contained a fire that broke out before dawn at a small San Diego County hotel.

A police dispatcher says the Dolphin Hotel in Oceanside was evacuated after the blaze was reported shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday. No injuries are reported.

XETV reports crews knocked down the flames within about 25 minutes. The fire was contained to a second-floor room.

The cause is under investigation.

Its website says the hotel has been in continuous operation since 1927.

The hotel is a few blocks from the beach in Oceanside, about 30 miles up the coast from downtown San Diego.
