Woman, 92, dies in western Pennsylvania house fire

MONESSEN, Pennsylvania — A 92-year-old woman has died in a southwestern Pennsylvania house fire.

The Westmoreland County coroner identified the victim as Martha Johnson.

Investigators say neighbors tried to help Johnson escape her burning home in Monessen on Thursday afternoon, but the flames were too intense.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
