Woman, 27, dies after losing control of pickup truck and crashing in Oswego County

SANDY CREEK, New York — State police say a 27-year-old woman has died after losing control of her pickup truck and crashing in Oswego County.

Troopers say Tinecia M. Warner failed to negotiate a curve on County Route 15 in Sandy Creek shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday. The 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche she was driving went down a 10-foot embankment and came to rest in a cornfield. Warner, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was ejected and was declared dead at the scene.

A passenger, 37-year-old Norman Bacon, was taken to Oswego Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Police say he had been wearing his seat belt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
