BENTLEYVILLE, Pennsylvania — A husband and wife in western Pennsylvania are dead in what a coroner says appears to be a murder-suicide.

Carmine and Caryn Verno were found at their Bentleyville home Wednesday night with gunshot wounds to the head.

Washington County Coroner S. Timothy Warco says the 69-year-old Carmine and 54-year-old Caryn hadn't been heard from since Saturday.

He says the couple was found after a caregiver called 911 for a welfare check.
