Sheriff's office: 15-year-old girl dies after ATV crash in NE Minn.; passenger hurt

CANYON, Minnesota — A 15-year-old girl has died after an all-terrain vehicle crash in northeastern Minnesota.

The St. Louis County sheriff's office says Tyleen Weber of Canyon was driving the ATV when she lost control, left a gravel road and flipped Wednesday afternoon.

Weber died that evening at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

Her passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Culver, was treated for minor injuries and released.

Authorities say both girls were thrown from the machine.

The crash happened near Canyon about 20 miles north of Duluth.
