3 in a row: Reload captures Belmont Park feature on turf

NEW YORK — Reload extended his winning streak to three with a 2 1/4-length victory Friday in the $90,000 allowance feature on the turf at Belmont Park.

In his first start since the Canadian Turf Stakes at Gulfstream Park in late February, Reload took charge turning for home and rolled to his sixth victory in 18 starts.

Javier Castellano was aboard for trainer Shug McGaughey as the 6-year-old ran the mile in 1:33.60, paying $5.20, $4 and $2.70 as the 8/5 favorite.

Slim Shadey was second, returning $9.60 and $4.60. Unbridled Ocean paid $2.70 to show.
