Official with aid group IOM says 4 staff in Afghanistan wounded in attack on Kabul guest house

KABUL, Afghanistan — A spokesman for an international aid organization says that four of its staff were injured in an attack on a guest house it uses in the Afghan capital.

International Organization for Migration spokesman Chris Lom told The Associated Press in Geneva that one woman was seriously burned by a grenade thrown into the compound by the attackers. He did not know her nationality.

The attack began Friday afternoon at the guesthouse for IOM's international staff.

Police say one suicide attacker blew open the gates with a powerful car bomb and then took over the building and began fighting police. An Interior Ministry spokesman says no one has been killed except two of the attackers.

The Taliban has claimed the attack and says its fighters killed several people.
