Report: Emirati soldier wounded in Yemen fighting dies in Germany

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The United Arab Emirates state news agency says that an Emirati soldier wounded in Yemen in September has died while receiving medical care in Germany.

The WAM agency identified the soldier as Nasser Ali Hassan Mohammed Baloch Tuesday.

The UAE is part of a Saudi-led coalition which has been fighting the country's Shiite Houthi rebels since March.

Yemen's civil war pits the Houthis, who have controlled the capital Sanaa since September, and allied army units against forces loyal to the internationally recognized government, as well as southern separatists and militants.

The Houthis are supported by military units loyal to the former president, Ali Abdullah Saleh.
