CONCORD, New Hampshire — The second enrollment period for individuals buying health insurance under the Affordable Care Act is coming to an end.

Sunday is the last day of the enrollment period that started Nov. 15.

As of last Wednesday, 48,447 individuals in New Hampshire had signed up for coverage. Unlike the first year, when only one company was offering health plans, five companies are offering plans.

Some of the newcomers who joined Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield said last week they were pleased with their results so far. Harvard Pilgrim said it was close to its enrollment goal of 6,000 customers. Maine Community Health had about 4,500 New Hampshire customers and Minuteman Health was at about 7,500 customers.
