Court continues trial date for last of 7 defendants in 2010 torture death of western Ky. woman

PADUCAH, Kentucky — A court has pushed back the trial date for the last of seven defendants to be tried in the killing of a western Kentucky woman.

Jasmine Taylor had been scheduled to go to trial Monday in the death of 21-year-old CaSonda Evrard, who was found dead in December 2010 with stab wounds to her chest.

Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Raymond McGee in Paducah said Taylor's trial was removed from the docket a few weeks ago because she is still undergoing a mental evaluation in LaGrange.

Taylor's mother, Jamie Taylor, testified during the trial of her husband, Mark Taylor, that family members tortured and eventually killed Evrard in their home. A jury convicted Mark Taylor. The other defendants have pleaded guilty, with the exception of Jasmine Taylor.
